Little Miss Sun Sign

Roxy Cinema

As the camera orbits him, Joey Frank struggles to convey an idea about astrology to a rotating group of guests. In 2006, in a manic episode in a matinee of Little Miss Sunshine, Joey Frank had an epiphany that he attempts to recreate by watching the film again. 14 hours of stopping and starting gets boiled and trimmed down to 101 minutes, so that Little Miss Sun Sign is the same length and size as the film from whence it came. Little Miss Sun Sign ultimately addresses syncronization as a mental and planetary principle. Starting with a Lacanian therapist and her son, the film has a range of experts and novices, each a facet of the quixotic conversation.
