West’s film, "Witch Baseball," adapts the score of a duet choreographed by Bob Fosse and Carol Haney for "Kiss Me, Kate." Two dancers perform both choreographic roles, alternating between the costumes of a witch and a baseball player to produce four distinct gender pairings. By reorganizing the duet through repeated permutations, the work examines "male" and "female" as choreographic languages embedded within the conventions of the Hollywood musical.
