This event is the opening night for NOIR CITY: NEW YORK, co-presented by the Film Noir Foundation, and will include an introduction by Eddie Muller. The evening will feature a double feature screening of "Blues in the Night" and "Black Angel," with a live musical performance at intermission by Elizabeth Bougerol & Her Band. "Blues in the Night" will be screened from a 35mm print.

A double feature opening night for Noir City: New York, co-presented by the Film Noir Foundation. The first film, "Blues in the Night" (1941), is considered the first noir to delve into the jazz world, following a St. Louis band's rise and fall amidst jealousy and murder. The second, "Black Angel" (1946), sees a wife and a pickled pianist teaming up to solve a murder, navigating a treacherous path through a ritzy nightclub and an unexpected climax.
