This screening series of 'With Hasan in Gaza' includes special appearances by director Kamal Aljafari. The film is a plaintive, lyrical travelogue capturing Aljafari's 2001 journey through Gaza with a MiniDV camera and local guide Hasan, documenting places and people that have since been profoundly impacted by conflict. Kamal Aljafari will be present for a Q&A session after the screenings on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th. On Sunday, May 31st, he will provide an introduction to the film.

Three MiniDV tapes of life in Gaza from 2001 were recently rediscovered. What started as a search for a former prison mate from 1989 led to an unexpected road trip from the north to the south of Gaza with Hasan, a local guide whose fate remains unknown.
