Black Time, Queer Time: Part 1

Anthology Film Archives

Series explores Black and queer time in cinema, challenging conventional chronology through diverse forms like narrative, documentary, video-essay, and avant-garde visions. It presents a rebellion against the standardized time of antiblackness and heterosexism by channeling kaleidoscopic, dissident, cyclical, fragmented, and fluid temporalities. The program invites a global black cinema that resists capture and control, confronting historical and contemporary violence as a problem of time.
